Mandy Porter and Summer: Grand Prix Magic

In July 2004, we acquired Summer, a Belgian Warmblood mare (1995), at Spruce Meadows from Norman Dello Joio, as a Grand Prix prospect for our trainer and rider, Mandy Porter. That year, Mandy and Summer took First at the Del Mar International Grand Prix; what followed was multiple top five finishes in 2005.

2006: PCHA Horse of the Year

Ranking sixth in the USEF in the $25,000 plus Grand Prix Division and winning more than $100,500 in 2006, Summer captured the PCHA Horse of the Year award and finished fourth in the West Coast World Cup Qualifiers.

The Colts won the Super Bowl, and Summer—her first time out this year—won the $75,000 Desert Circuit II Grand Prix, CSI-W qualifier. Nice way to kick-off the year!
