An Impressive American Debut

LaMarque was a five-year-old when we imported him from Germany in 2007 and he immediately made his presence known here in the States. During his stallion testing at the AHHA approvals, he was overwhelmingly superior in the jumping phase earning the highest marks possible, perfect 10’s for technique, scope and willingness. His total combined score of of 48 (canter: 8, performance potential: 8.85, rideability: 8.75) boldly demonstrated the quality of his lineage. That same year, he went on to place third in the Five-Year-Old Young Jumper Classic at the Oaks Blenheim Summer Classic in San Juan Capistrano.

LaMarque continues to amaze us with his competitive spirit and bold jump. In 2009, he ended the year with an impressive second place finish at the Wild Turkey Farm Seven/Eight-Year-Old Young Jumper Championship Western League Finals. We expect him to continue to shine in 2010 under the guidance of Grand Prix rider Mandy Porter.

LaMarque is nominated with the International Jumper Futurity (IJF) and the Performance Horse Registry (PHR). He is licensed with the American Holsteiner Horse Association (AHHA).

The Remarkable Qualities of a Champion

LaMarque’s exceptional character and performance abilities are undoubtedly influenced by his impeccable lineage that includes some of the most influential stallions of the century including Lansing, Carthago Z and Lord Calando. He has Ladykiller bloodlines on both is Dam and Sire’s side from Landgraf I and Lord.

Son of Lansing: International Grand Prix Champion

LaMarque’s sire, the famous grey stallion Lansing, is a German producer of numerous champion approved stallions, state Premium Mares and Premium Foals. As a five-year-old, Lansing won the prestigious Bundeschampionart (German National Showjumping Championships), a brilliant illustration of his impeccable lineage that includes Grandsire Landgraf I and Great-Grandsire Ladykiller. Lansing has been known to pass on his beautiful movement and extraordinary jumping ability to his offspring.

Grandson of Landgraf I

Landgraf I, a son of Ladykiller, is widely considered one of the most influential sires of show jumpers. The list is long: Freestyle won the Aachen Grand Prix, Libero won the Dutch National title 5 times and the 1994 World Cup. There’s also dressage talent Loutano and champion producer Linaro. Landgraf I dominates the Holsteiner Stud book with 60 Colts and 340 Broodmares (260 are in the Head Stud Book and 70 have been awarded State Premium).

Dam: Goldkueste (by Lord Calando)

The good mare Goldkeuste was an international Grand Prix Jumper with Leo Philliparets. Her Grandsire, Lord Calando is by Holsteiner foundation sire Lord. Lord Calando is the sire of Luz Z, who, under Jerry Smit, participated in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and won the Pulsar Crown in Valkensawaard and Cannes. His winnings top one million euros. Lord Calando is out of Perra, dam of Carthago Z.

Grand Dam Perra (also dam of Carthago Z)

Perra is a granddaughter of Lord (by the legendary Ladykiller) who produced the international show jumper, Livius, ridden by Peter Luther. Together they won team medals at the 1981 European Championships, World Championships in 1982 and the 1984 Olympic Games. Along with Landgraf I, Lord is one of Ladykiller's most influential sons, and has sired more than 60 stallions with progeny winnings topping three million euros.

Flashy Foals with Elegant Gaits

LaMarque's first foals arrived in 2009. WT Bounce and WT Beckett were awarded Premium Foal status, WT Believe, and WT Bliss were awarded Merit status. All of his foals exhibit his beautiful canter and elegant stature.
